Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2016

The following Privacy Policy governs the online information collection practices of Daily Auto Advice (“Daily Auto Advice,” “we,” or “us”). Specifically, it outlines the types of information that we collect when you use any Daily Auto Advice-owned websites and domains such as www.DailyAutoAdvice.com (the “Sites”), how we use the information we collect, with whom we share it, how we protect it, and the choices we offer you regarding our collection and use of such information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means (for example, at a live event, via telephone, or through the mail).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Because the Internet is an evolving medium, we may need to change our Privacy Policy at some point in the future. If we make a material change to our Privacy Policy, we will provide notice to you (by email and/or posting on our Sites) that our privacy practices have changed and will provide a link to the new policy. In the event we make a material change to how we use your personal information, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of such new or different use. The date this Privacy Policy was last revised is at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to check for any updates or changes.

Information We Collect
We may collect and store personal information about you, meaning information that can uniquely identify you, and/or other information that you voluntarily provide to us online while using a Site (e.g., while on the Site or in responding via email to a feature provided on the Site). The information we may collect about you may include, without limitation:

  • contact information, such as your name, postal address, email address, and phone number;
  • your date of birth;
  • information about your residence, such as whether you rent or own your residence, the length of time at your residence, and your monthly payment;
  • employment information, such as the name of your employer, your job title, and the duration of your employment; and
  • your monthly income.

We also collect and store information that is generated automatically as you navigate online through our Sites. For example, we may collect:

  • information about the devices you use to access our Sites (such as the IP address and the type of the device, operating system, and web browser);
  • dates, times, and duration of use of our Sites (including whether you are a repeat or first time visitor); and
  • information regarding actions taken on our Sites (such as page views and website navigation patterns).

This information allows us, among other things, to improve our Sites, products, and services and to measure traffic on our Sites.

We also may use a standard feature found in browser software called a “cookie” to enhance your experiences with our Sites. Cookies are small files that your web browser places on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes. By showing how and when users use our Sites, cookies help us deliver advertisements, identify how many unique users visit our Sites, and track user trends and patterns. They also prevent you from having to re-enter your preferences on certain areas of our Sites where you may have entered preference information before. We may also use web beacons (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags, or clear GIFs) to access cookies and to count users who visit our Sites or open HTML-formatted email messages we have sent.

How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals
Your web browser may let you choose your preference as to whether you want to allow the collection of information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services. At this time, our Sites do not respond to the preferences you may have set in your web browser regarding such collection of your information, and we may continue to collect information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

How We Use the Information We Collect
We may use the information we collect about you in a variety of ways, such as:

  • send you information or materials, or complete transactions, you request;
  • respond to your questions and comments and provide customer support;
  • communicate with you about our products, services, offers, and promotions;
  • evaluate, customize, and improve the features of our Sites, our products and services, and advertising that appear on our Sites;
  • protect against and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims, and other liabilities, and manage risk exposure, including by identifying potential hackers and other unauthorized users;
  • enforce our Terms of Use and other agreements; and
  • comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards.

We also may use the information we obtain about you in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection.

Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
Some of the content on our Sites, including advertisements, may be served by third parties. Some of our third-party advertisers and ad servers that place and present content on our Sites also may collect information via cookies, web beacons or similar technologies. These third-party advertisers and ad servers may use the information they collect to help present their advertisements to you, to help measure and research the advertisements’ effectiveness, or for other purposes. The use and collection of information by these third parties is governed by the relevant third party’s privacy policy and is not covered by our Privacy Policy. Indeed, the privacy practices of these third-party advertisers and ad servers may be different from ours. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other third party content, you should contact the responsible third party directly.

Our Sites may include links to other websites and provide access to products and services offered by third parties, whose privacy practices we do not control. When you access another website or purchase third-party products or services through any of our Sites, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting or the provider of such products or services.

  • to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements;
  • if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect our rights, users of our Sites or others;
  • to third parties to market their products or services to you if you have not opted out of these disclosures; and
  • otherwise with your consent.

We also reserve the right to transfer your personal information to a buyer or other transferee in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, sale, or other transfer of some or all of our assets. Should such a sale, merger, or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use your personal information in a manner that is consistent with our Privacy Policy.

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make any information available for viewing by third parties online – for example on message boards, web logs, through email, or in chat areas – that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides us. We are not responsible for any use of such information by third parties.
